Course Offerings & Progressive Curriculum

Classes generally meet once a week and run continually throughout the academic year organized by terms running approximately 10-12 weeks in length. Our curriculum and projects are designed to present a progressing level of skill and challenge so that students can gain the most out of our program. Our small class size and individualized instruction allows you to join at any time********.

PreSchool Monart

3 - 4 Years Old
A class for 3 and 4 year olds that encourages visual perception and eye hand coordination skills. Students will learn the visual recognition of the 5 Elements of Shape and how to use them in the recognition of the Alphabet, the Numbering system, the Drawing of their own name, and simplistic drawings of creatures from nature. Games that incorporate the use of crafts, music, and movement will teach proficiency in following directions and achieving pre-drawing and reading readiness skills.

Getting Ready I

4 - 6 Years Old
An introduction to representational drawing geared to the attention span and motor coordination of a 4 and 5 year old. Students work on their ability to recognize the elements of shape and combine them in drawing the creatures from nature and objects from their world.

Getting Ready II

4 - 6 Years Old
A class for 4-6 year olds who have mastered the ability to recognize the elements of shape and have achieved a skill level that allows them to make independent choices in composition and background ideas. Geared for the student who has learned to focus and concentrate for the one hour class, without an undue need for individual attention.

Clay Modelling

4 - 8 Years Old
Clay is one of those things that is almost irresistible to kids. Who can resist picking up a cool piece of clay and squooshing and squeezing it; letting it ooze between your fingers or rolling it around on the palm of your hand? Not many can deny the desire to play with clay. $350/week(All Day) or $180.00/week(morning session) or $50/day (morning session)

Clay-Sculpt

4-14
Clay sculpt, encourages your child’s imagination to flourish by showing them how to put those ideas onto paper, creating a wire framework to support the sculpture and finally by sculpting the character into 3D form. Clay is one of the most versatile mediums that we have at our disposal, and we at Monart can provide the platform that introduces your child to this amazing medium.

Computer - Basics

4-14
Monart brings this course to introduce your child to the starting basics of computers. With simple step-by-step instructions we will start strengthening their skills. We will be working primarily with the ‘Photoshop’ and ‘Indesign’. As always the computers will be provided at Monart along with all the tools that will be needed for them to succeed.

Computer - Advanced

We recommend this course for the students that are well versed with the basic tools in computers. Our course will start the students by strengthening them in ‘Photoshop’ and ‘Indesign’, gearing them to learn computer animation.

Geared for the student who has learned to focus and concentrate for the one hour class and shows the ability to put effort into their work.

Drawing Fundamentals

8 - 12 Years Old

Lessons will introduce them to inspirations from 2Dimensional graphic materials, 3Dimensional objects, the human form, perspective, and proportion.

Intermediate Drawing

8 - 12 Years Old
A class for 8-12 year olds who have achieved the skill level of working independently on projects, rarely needing a step by step demonstration by the teacher. Geared for the student who has mastered the basic skills in line, shape, proportion, perspective, and the ability to create volume through light logic, using 3 dimensional objects. Can stay focused and concentrated for a 2 hour class and is confident enough to explore various subject matter and live models with comfort.

Manga

8 - Adult
The art of Japanese animation. The gene includes a broad range of subjects: action-adventure, romance, sports and games, science fiction and fantasy, to name a few. It is an introduction to creating comic and print cartoons. Students will learn body proportions, perspective, and understand the basic of cartoon dynamics. This course is recommended in addition to our ongoing curriculum.

Drawing Fundamental-II

8 - 12 Years Old
Advanced level of Drawing Fundamental. The pre-requisite for this level is 3 terms of Year 1 terms, or by way of a teacher\'s recommendation.

Silk Painting

8 - Adult
Learn the art of silk painting. Incorporate your own unique ideas and let it come to life on silk. Drawing is a core element to this program. Our teachers will guide the students in handling the various medias involved in this course.

Bead design and Jewelry making

8 - Adult
Whilst being another extension of clay, it will also show students how to produce their own beads and put together their own unique jewelry. All materials are provided on site.

Animation Drawing

8 - Adult
Children are taught how to breakdown and draw popular animated characters, be it Pokemon, Manga, or the likes of Calvin and Hobbs. This course incorporates the basic drawing skills of Monart whilst catering to the inner passion of our children. This class will provide children the required pre-requisite of cartoon animation, which we will launch very soon.

An Independent Study class for Teens and Adults, that ranges from students with no experience to ones who have fairly good basic drawing skills. Will introduce the student to all subjects, media, and styles of drawing and painting.
